Gloribox Live Concert from 2006 Unearthed

I am the reason for it, but for many years now I have regretted that Gloribox had such a small amount of content. We don’t have a lot of pictures, and until recently there was no available video content. In fact, the only thing I have had other than our recorded music that you can find here is an audio recording of a rehearsal. The audio quality is not the best but we went through an entire set list that included live performances of all the songs off of our EP (except for thrift shop) and several more songs that never got recorded.

When I say I am the reason for it, I mean it.

Tobby was always a visionary and he always wanted us to video our time in the studio, to create more content. Mind you, this was relatively early in the internet days and the biggest social media network was myspace. Video was taken mostly on camcorders back then. The files were big and hard to digitize and the concept of uploading them like we do today was held only in the minds of visionaries… like Tobby.

I was self conscious and didn’t like the idea so I never supported it.

So for nearly two decades I have lamented this fact and wished I could see some content from when we were young, creative, and at the top of our musical powers.

Enter Jenny Maynard - Scott (bassist)’s wife. I had this vague memory that she had a camcorder at a few of our shows. From time to time (year to year) I would inquire about the videos and if she still had them. The reply was something like… yes I think I have them somewhere. No, I can’t find them. Etc.

I imagined they were lost forever. And it truly made me sad.

Fast forward to April 15, 2025. A mysterious link was dropped in a group text that includes most members of the band - who are all still close friends.

The link contained links to full videos of 3 live shows from 2006.

Long story short, the videos then disappeared and we were left wondering why. Turns out it was an elaborate scheme to surprise us and the link wasn’t supposed to have been shared yet.

A couple of months later I assisted Jenny in surprising Scott and Jamin and our wives and we had a fun watch party where we drank good whiskey and cranked the videos as loud as possible in my living room.

What a night.

What an incredible experience to watch yourself - for the very first time ever (!) - a nearly 20 years younger version of yourself… who could play and sing and had such polished skill…. especially compared to the current version of a musician I am today… EXTREMELY RUSTY.

So it is with great joy that I was able to post the videos on YouTube and will share them here.

All thanks to Jenny who held an old school camcorder for the entirety of these shows and captured moments in time that I personally will always treasure.

Enjoy!
